Accessibility Statement...
Here at Fusion Web Design we have tried to cater for everybody, from slight to major disabilities.
We have done this in a number of ways:
- Skip to main content - This means users who are using a screen reader do not have to listen to the navigation every time they go to a new page, it is a simple feature but useful for those who are blind.
- Accesskeys - These have been used for all major links on this website, this means that a user who cannot use a mouse can still navigation to the desired link by using keyboard shortcuts. These shortcuts cane be found on Wikipedia.
- Alt attributes - Alt attributes are placed on an image and is shown when the image cannot be. There are a number of reasons for this; the user may have a slow internet connection and has turned images off, the user is browsing on a mobile device with low memory and so had turned images off, the user is using a text based browser which doesn't show images or the user is blind and so cannot see images.
There aren't many present on this website, this is because most of the images used are for decoration purposes; its common practice to apply alt attributes to informative images (images which have a meaning behind them) rather then images used for decoration. - Altering text size - The text size on this website can be made bigger or smaller by using the function inside your browser.
- Liquid layout - A liquid layout is one which changes width as the browser window does, this is good for mobile devices which often have low resolution screens, when a user browses the sight the page's width decreases and the page simply gets longer. This means there's more scrolling to do but there's no loss of content.
